Buckley Bay Beach House vacation rental is centrally located in Buckley Bay, a small community that is part of the Comox Valley on the east coast of Vancouver Island, BC. Our waterfront location, with private beach, wildlife viewing and large garden, will keep you as busy as you want to be but if your itinerary includes getting out to see more of Vancouver Island (and there’s lots to see and do) we have some suggestions for you. Mt. Washington and Strathcona Provincial Park: (45 minutes):

Hiking, Scenic Drive, Chairlift Ride (+5200 ft):
This is a must on a nice day. From the top of Mt Washington, the views are incredible of snow capped mountains, the Straits of Georgia and Baynes Sound, where you are staying! At Mt Washington, there is the Paradise Meadows trail head into Strathcona Provincial Park, with a network of boardwalks and hiking trails, past pristine mountain meadows, lakes and forests. Whether you want an easy hike with the kids or are the adventurous kind, there is a trail to suit you.

Cumberland (15 minutes)

A historic mining town with excellent biking trails, rental shops, plus antique shops to browse around. Take the lovely scenic drive to the glacier fed Comox Lake.

 

Denman and Hornby Island (Day Trip)

Two beautiful Islands. The Buckley Bay ferry terminal is just a few minutes down the road, taking you on a short journey to Denman Island which has many provincial parks. There is also a short ferry trip to Hornby Island which boasts some of the warmest waters at Tribune Bay Beach. There is also a wonderful 5km hike on the Bluffs of Halliwell Provincial Park.

Union Bay (10 minutes)

Hire a Kayak, take a picnic. Tree Island Provincial Park is just 2 hours away by Kayak, enjoy a bit of paradise on this island. Scuba Diving available to wrecks nearby.
